Imphal, September 15 2023: In an ambitious mission to nurture the environment, Assam Rifles organised a mass tree plantation drive at Yangangpokpi, Sawombung and Litan COBs on Friday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), 35 troopers and 93 enthusiastic locals planted 2,125 saplings of diverse tree varieties.

On the other hand, Assam Rifles distributed sports items to the authorities running relief camps in Churachandpur district to motivate the children in the relief camp.

Meanwhile, troopers of Assam Rifles of IGAR (South), organised a lecture-cum-seminar on health awareness programme at Zou Khunou village in Churachandpur district on Thursday.

The event was marked by active participation from the villagers, particularly the youth, showcasing a collective commitment to improving their overall well-being, the PRO informed.

With the stated objective to promote sports culture among the local youth and encourage them to channel their energy positively, a friendly volleyball match between troopers of Assam Rifles and local youth was also organised at Songdai village in Churachandpur district on Thursday, the PRO informed.
