Forest Training School holds convocation function

Imphal, September 04 2023: A convocation function of the 20th batch of Foresters and 50th training course 2021-22 for forest guards of Manipur Forest Training School (MFTS) was held at the Luwangshang bam campus of the school on Monday.

Presided over by Principal Chief Conservator (Forest) SS Chhabra, the function was attended by environment and climate change minister Th Biswajit as chief guest and environment and climate change additional secretary MH Khan as guest of honour.

Speaking on the occasion, MFTS director Gitla Laishram informed that altogether 69 trainee foresters and 192 trainee forest guards underwent training during the last academic session.

Of the total 192 forest guards, 89 trainees got distinction, 82 got honours and 19 of got pass certificates while 6, 60 and 3 forester trainees out of the total of 69 received distinction, honoursand pass certificates respectively.

Trainees of Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Pherzawl, Chandel and Tengnoupal forest division, who were not able to attend the convocation in person due to the prevailing situation in the state, attended the same online.
