Imphal, April 01 2023: Churachandpur Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised an awareness programme on impacts of deforestation and importance of forest in shaping the environment on Friday at Govajang village.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the awareness programme held under the theme 'Save trees, save environment' was aimed at imparting awareness on the importance of preserving trees and its role in shaping the environment amongst the villagers, youth and children of Govajang village.

Churachandpur Battalion also motivated the young minds to contribute significantly towards nature preservation and harmful effect of defor -estation.

The programme also included an exciting short skit displaying a group of children defending a tree when a man with axe was trying to cut it.

The programme culminated with informal interactions to know the problems of the villagers.
