Trees planted at Thangjing, Heibok hill ranges

Imphal, July 20 2022: With the stated objective to stop poppy cultivation and make Manipur greener, tree saplings were planted at Nabil Khuman sector of Thangjing hill range on Tuesday.

The plantation drive car[1]ried out as a part of awareness campaign organised jointly by Rehal Perfume and Nabil Khuman village chief Ngam[1]khohen Haokip was launched by Environment activist and Green Universal Foundation secretary Anish Ahamad.

Around 1,300 tree saplings were planted during the cam[1]paign.

In his brief address, Anish Ahamad highlighted the im[1]portance of planting trees and further urged the villagers not to kill wild animals and birds so as to maintain ecological balance.

On the other-hand, under the aegis of AMUCO, Imphal West District United Clubs' Organisation (IWDUCO), Singjamei to Lilong United Clubs' Organisation (SLUCO) and Ideal Youth Club, Narankonjil Mamang Leikai jointly carried out a mass tree plantation at the Eco Tour[1]ism Park atop Heibok hills on Wednesday.

The members of the or[1]ganisations also resolved to continue mass tree plantation in different parts of the state to make a Green Manipur, informed SLUCO publicity secretary K Lelen.
