Fish Farmer's Day celebrated in IE, Bpr Source: Chronicle News Service Imphal, July 11 2022: KVK, Imphal East (Andro) celebrated the 22nd National Fish Farmers' Day on Monday at its office. The celebration was attended by Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal chancellor Prof S Ayappan, director extension (education) in-charge Prof Th Ranadhir, registrar Dr K Mamocha Singh and deputy director Dipak Nath as presidium members. During the celebration, Prof S Ayappan encouraged the fish farmers to adopt appropriate method/technology so as to increase their fish yield. Later, fish medicines and fingerlings were distributed. Meanwhile, "Bharathima na Fishermen Development Cooperative Ltd (BHARATHI-MANACO), which is the first multi-state cooperative society of fisheries in Manipur & Nagaland, under Ministry of Cooperation, celebrated the National Fish Farmers' Day at if s Kha-Potshangbam Village in Bishnupur district headquarters on Sunday. Imphal, July 11 2022: KVK, Imphal East (Andro) celebrated the 22nd National Fish Farmers' Day on Monday at its office.

The celebration was attended by Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal chancellor Prof S Ayappan, director extension (education) in-charge Prof Th Ranadhir, registrar Dr K Mamocha Singh and deputy director Dipak Nath as presidium members.

During the celebration, Prof S Ayappan encouraged the fish farmers to adopt appropriate method/technology so as to increase their fish yield.

In a release, chairman Dr Ramanando Khundrakpam informed that members of BHARATHIMANACO participated in a virtual programme organised by Department of Fisheries and addressed by Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) chief executive Dr Suvarna Chandrappagari and experts on the role & importance of the fisheries sector in socio-economic development of the fish farmers & fishermen community in particular and nation as a whole.
