Imphal, February 19 2022: In a bid to motivate the farmers of the State who are working earnestly to enhance the economic status of the State, 'Farmers' Field Day' was held today.
The programme was organised by the Central Agricultural University (CAU) Imphal and was held in the Research Farm of the varsity at Andro in Imphal East.
In connection with the programme, a team led by the Vice Chancellor of CAU Imphal, Dr Anupam Mishra inspected the farm where mustard are planted to extract oil in 578 hectares in Andro Poiroupat as a trial project under All India Coordinated Research Project on Rapeseed, NEH Component.
Seeing the successful work, the VC lauded the farmers for their earnest efforts.
Speaking about the project, Dean of CAU's, College of Agriculture, Professor Indira Sarangthem said that the varieties of mustard planted in Poiroupat are TS38, NRCHB101, DRMR150-35 and NRCYS05-02 .
Stating that these mustard varieties are well suited with the soil of the place, she expressed belief that the objective of the trial project will be achieved.
