Kakching, January 29 2022: Divisional Forest Office (DFO), Thoubal in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinic, Hiyanglam and OKHO (Okeshwar, Honesh-war) Trust Manipur -Langmeidong organised a one-day Environment cum Wildlife Protection awareness programme at Legal Aid Clinic Hiyanglam in Hiyanglam Awang Leikai on Saturday.The programme was attend-ed by DFO Thoubal Thoidingjam Lokendro, OKHO Trust executive director Ngouba Thouna, Legal Aid Clinic Hiyanglam co-ordinator W Amusana Devi and assistant con-servator of forest Naorem Munal Meitei as presidium members.Ngouba Thouna, who is also the chairman of the Organising Committee, delivered the key-note speech, while Naorem Munal spoke on wildlife protection and the important role played by CSOs in this regard.Environmentalist Tekcham Ra-meshwar spoke on protection of the environment; social scientist M Chandrashekhar on ecosystem; and Joint Co-ordination Com-mittee on Wildlife and Biodiver-sity (JCCWB) Manipur convenor Romesh Ningthoujam on wildlife crime and its impacts, as resource persons.Later, a discussion session with DFO Thoubal Thoidingjam Lo-kendro as moderator was also conducted.
