Poppy plants destroyed in Kamjong, liquor seized in CCpur

Imphal, January 18 2022: A combined team of Kamjong district police led by two additional SPs (L&O/Ops) under the supervision of its SP, along with personnel of 6th MR, Kamjong Forest team and NAB Manipur destroyed poppy plantation at Maokot hill range in Kamjong district on Tuesday evening.

During the drive, poppy plantation spread over around 53 acres was destroyed.

A case has been registered at Chassad police station in this regard, police informed.

In Churachandpur district, a combined team of Excise Department and Village Defence Force (VDF) seized 50 litres of locally brewed liquor called 'Local seal pack' from in front of Bungmual forest gate while frisking vehicles on Tuesday morning.

The frisking was led by excise department nodal officer T Pau-zalian Pake, a police report said.
