Yadav launches vaccination for children

Imphal, January 03 2022: Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupendra Yadav launched COVID-19 vaccination for 15-18 years old children at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal today.

Altogether about 900 children took the vaccination shot in different parts of the State on the first day today.

Speaking at the launch programme, the Minister said there was a time when 'we had to import Polio vaccines from other countries and that used to take 10-15 years.

But under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country has been able to vaccinate more than 100 crore individual within a year,' said a statement issued by RIMS.

Mentioning that while reading newspaper he came across an article on climate change, the Minister said the people of the State are really concerned about climate change.

The Minister added that following the assurance given to the World by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the UN-led COP26 Climate Change Summit that India will achieve net zero carbon emission by 2070, India is set to give a firm push to its plan for increasing renewable energy and switching to hydrogen fuel for electricity and transport.

"We are trying to bring a healthy environment to every corner of the country.

We are creating a healthy lifestyle along with providing basic infrastructure; this is also a big topic for the country," he added.

During the launch program, Dr Sambit Patra, National leader of BJP; Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Advisor (Health) to Chief Minister of Manipur; Th Kirankumar Singh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West; Prof A Santa Singh, Director, RIMS; Prof Nepram Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Jogen Singh, Additional District Magistrate, Imphal West; Dr N Shantajit Singh, District Immunization Officer and Dr Vijaya Elangbam, Nodal Officer, COVID-19 Vaccination Center, RIMS were also present.
