Imphal, December 09 2021: A State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation, 2021 was organized at Hotel Imphal, Imphal today by NHPC, Loktak Power Station on the topics 'Cleaner Planet' and 'Energy Efficient India' .
The competition was conducted as a part of National awareness campaign on energy conservation 2021 launched by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).
M Harekrishna, IAS, Commisioner, Higher and Technical Education, SCERT, Fisheries, Education (S), Adult Education, Govt of Manipur was the Chief Guest of Award function.
NHPC organises State level painting on energy conservation
In his address he said that he was delighted to see the creative paintings drawn by the students on energy conservation and he advised the students to be resilient, flexible and adoptable to the changing circumstances.
He also appreciated NHPC Loktak Power Station's endeavour for conducting the competition.
Ranjit Thakur, General Manager, NHPC Loktak Power Station in his address highlighted the importance of energy conservation and role of renewable energy.
Nodal Officer of Manipur Pandu Gagrai, said that such type of programmes will inspire and make the students more aware towards energy conservation.
Total 526 students of class 5th to 10th were registered through the web portal developed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India for the painting competition.
A total of 26 participant students were awarded with prizes of worth Rs.3.50 lakhs along with certificates.
The first three prize winners will represent Manipur at the National level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation to be held on 14th December 2021 at New Delhi on the day of National Energy Conservation Day.
