Kangpokpi, November 29 2021: A one-day training programme on "Clean Village-Green Village" was organized at Kholep village, one of the cleanest and well-maintained villages in Kangpokpi district.

The programme was organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Kangpokpi in collaboration with Kholep Youth Club.

It was attended by Ginbiakmuan Tombing, District Youth Coordinator (DYC), NYK Kangpokpi; Paominthang Haokip, environmentalist Kholep Village; Lalcha Haokip, advisor to Kholep Youth Club; and social activist Dr Lamtinthang Haokip as presidium members.

The training programme began with a key-note address by Thangkhanlen Haokip, National Youth Volunteer.

Speaking on the occasion, Ginbiakmuan Tombing highlighted the need to make villages plastic-free and the challenges of open defecation.

Paominthang spoke on the issue of climate change while Lalcha and Dr Lamtinthang delivered lectures on 'sanitation and hygiene', 'social and community actions for green innovations'.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Thangkholun Haokip, Chairman, Kholep Youth Club.
