Tamenglong, November 09 2021: The sixth edition of Amur falcon festival 2021 was held on Tuesday at Chiuluan village, Tamenglong district.
It was attended by Forest Minister Awangbow Newmai; M H Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Environment; Dr Dhananjay Mohan, Director Wildlife institute of India Dehradun and Dr A K Joshi, PCCF & HoFF as presidium members.
Gaithaolu Thaimei, CF Western Circle and incharge DFO Tamenglong; Hungyo Worshang, DC Tamenglong; MS Anupam, SP Tamenglong and other District level Officers also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Awangbow Newmai highlighted the various activities carried out by Forest Division Tamenglong to protect Amur Falcons.
The Minister also stressed on the need to carry out large scale awareness on Amur Falcons in the future.

Noklu Phom the Whitley Award winner for Amur falcon conservation from Nagaland also shared his experience of community participation in nature conservation.
Later, Awangbow Newmai handed over gifts to the women of Tamenglong district along with a monetary assistance of Rs 20,000 to the women self help group.
He also inaugurated a Barack type building.
