Antarctica expedition

Imphal, November 05 2021: Huidrom Nageshwar Singh from Wabagai Makha Leikai presently working as Meteorologist-B in Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) under Ministry of Earth Sciences, has been designated as the leader for the 41-Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica (ISEA) for 2021-22 .

The expedition will commence from the National Centre for Polar and Ocean Research, Goa, India on November 17, 2021 and is expected to reach Maitri station, Antarctica by December 11, 2021 after routing through Cape Town, South Africa.

This expedition will last till November 2022 and finally return to India by March, 2023 .

It may mentioned here that HN Singh was a member of the 39th Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica from December 1, 2019 to January 21st, 2021 and had successfully completed the expedition with immense contributions in the field of scientific research associated with studies of ozone observations, sea waves, ice melting rates, snow storms, global warming, vertical atmospheric profile, etc.

HN Singh is also a founder member of Manipuri Diaspora Association (MDA), Delhi.
