Cleanliness drive held, aid extended

Imphal, October 30 2021: Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a cleanliness drive at Sita village to promote "Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan" under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in Tengnoupal on Saturday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), the drive was undertaken to increase awareness among the villagers about importance of keeping the surroundings clean to prevent communicable diseases and they were also told to avoid stagnation of water near the houses to prevent spread of dengue.

On the other hand, Churachandpur Sector AR conducted a pledge ceremony on the occasion of 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel celebrated as National Unity Day in villages of Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts on Saturday.

The local populace including students vol- untarily participated in the ceremony, shared their view on the subject and applauded the efforts of Assam Rifles for organising such informative event in the village, said the PRO in another release.

Meanwhile, Mantripukhri Battalion of IGAR (S) on Saturday distributed essential items including hand sanitisers, face masks, hand gloves to the representatives of Sri Sathya Seva Organisation as it was facing acute shortage of resources due to pandemic.
