Noney, October 28 2021: Noney Battalion Assam Rifles of 22 Sector Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) organised tree plantation drive to celebrate the "Rashtriya Ekta Diwas" (National Unity Day) at T Khonom village on Thursday.

In connection with the celebration of National Unity Day, the mega plantation drive was carried out by Noney Battalion in collaboration with State Forest Department to promote, preserve and maintain ecological balance and biodiversity of the environment.

Troops of Noney Battalion Assam Rifles and youth of the neighbouring villages also participated in the tree plantation drive.

A total of 250 saplings of various varieties, which were provided by Kangpokpi district Forest officer (DFO) were planted at T Khonom village.

During the event, villagers were also educated on the role of "Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel" in the integration of modern India.

All present in the event also pledged to contribute and promote the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign.
