Imphal, October 06 2021: Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt of India has organized a workshop on "Water quality management through Testing, Surveillance and Technological Intervention for Socio-Economic Development of Manipur" in collaboration with Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED) at IBSD, Imphal today.
A press release issued by IBSD said that the program was graced and inaugurated by Leisemba Sanajaoba, MP, Rajya Sabha and was addressed by Prof Pulok K Mukherjee, Director, IBSD, Imphal followed by the lecture of Dr S Indira Devi, scientist, IBSD who enlightened different aspects of water quality management and surveillance.
Indraneel Das, Consultant, Municipal and Household water Quality, Kolkata delivered lecture to address the water testing and surveillance for quality management and socio-economic development in this State.
Salam Devakanta Singh, Chief Chemist, PHED, Manipur highlighted the present scenario of water quality management of the state, added the press release.
Also IBSD and PHED initiated collaborative efforts on Household water quality management in the State of Manipur through scientific interventions and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two organizations for providing safe water, better health and well-being of Manipur.
