Bpr, October 03 2021: As a part of Clean Indian campaign, which is being conducted from October 1 to 31, a cleanliness drive was held at Wangoo on Sunday.
The cleanliness drive organised by Bishnupur district administration in association with Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Sangathan Bishnupur and eight local clubs under Wangoo GP including Wangoo Model Club was attended by NYK district co-ordinator Dr Salam Dhana, PHDO Ithai Khunou secretary Somokanta Karam, Wangoo Model Club secretary Amom Binoy and Wangoo GP pradhan nominee Amom Keshojit among others.
Speaking on the occasion, S Dhana informed that the drive was a part of the cleanliness campaign launched by the union minister in 744 districts of the country from Saturday.
Highlighting the issue of environmental pollution caused by plastic bottles, he said that drive is being conducted so as to counter plastic pollution in the country.
Informing'that the plastic bottles will be collected and weighed so as to find out the quantities of bottles gathered every day, Dhana said that a report of the collected bottles will be taken by district administration, Nehru Yuva Kendra volunteers and youth leaders and it will be further sent to Delhi.
He announced that special recognition will be awarded to the best three volunteers and youth club that keep their area clean in the 16 districts of the state.
