Noney, August 23 2021: Noney Battalion Assam Rifles of 22 Sector IGAR (East) organised a 'Mega Tree Plantation Drive' under the theme 'Save Trees, Save Earth' with an aim to preserve forest, promote awareness about forest conservation and as a gesture of social responsibility at Noney, Kotlien, Tupul, Haochong, Awangkhul, Khongsang and Nungba areas on Monday.

During the programme, 3596 saplings of fruits, flowering, shady and local varieties were planted in and around the Battalion Headquarters, Company Operating Bases and along National Highway-37 and village link roads.

Villagers present during the drive were also briefed regarding the present Covid-19 pandemic situation.
