CCPur, April 06 2021: A one day Capacity Building and Awareness Campaign on Climate Change Issues in Manipur was held yesterday at M Canaanphai, Sagang in Churachandpur district.
The programme was jointly organised by Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) Takyelpat and M Canaanphai Youth Club, Sagang in coordination with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India, Noida, said a press release issued by the club.
The main objectives of the programme includes sensitizing the farmers, women, panchayat members, officials and students about climate change and related issues and capacity building and training on environment, dynamics of nature including climate change to various stake.
Also the programme will teach how to reduce and to adapt to the changing climatic conditions and preparation of resource materials on climate change.
Dr L Sanjoy Meitei, lecturer of DM College of Science delivered lecture on Climate change issues in Manipur and N Shyamkishore Singh, science communicator made a demonstration of the kit 'Learning by Doing' which had a set of 14 activities based on climate change and global warming.
The event was graced by Dr L Dinachandra Singh, director of MASTEC and M Agustin, village chief of M Canaanphai village, Sagang as the presidium members and 30 participants took part in the programme.
