Landslide due to rains leave houses damaged in Senapati

Senapati, August 25 2020: Landslide due to heavy rains has left six families homeless at Laii village under Paomata sub-division of Senapati district Thursday.

Those heads of the households affected by the calamity have been identified as Th Sani, S Asale, Thane, D Thezho, Dai and S Thakho.

Even as the landslide following the incessant rains destroyed the houses, there is no report of any casualty and injury to the family members.

According to the victims, there have been continuous heavy rains since the past few days.

The landslide damaged some houses beyond repair and some houses partly.

The landslide occurred at around 2:45 Thursday.

All the affected families have been shifted to their neighbours or relatives and some to a Government school for shelter and immediate relief.

The victims and villagers have appealed to the Senapati district administration and State Government to immediately look into the grievance and plight of the people of Laii village affected by the natural calamity.
