Imphal, March 21 2025: Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh inaugurated a Rain Water Harvesting System at the premises of Kalimai Mandir, Ward No 24 under Sagolband constituency on Friday.
According to a release issued by the office of the MLA, the inaugural function was attended by G Bino and RK Jiten Singh, Corporators of Ward No 24 and Ward No 7 respectively, alongside community leaders and local residents.
Speaking at the event, RK Imo Singh highlighted the importance of rainwater harvesting as a crucial necessity, not only in areas with water scarcity but also where water resources are adequate.
He underscored how such systems contribute to sustainable development and long-term water conservation goals, benefiting the community and future generations.
The MLA also shared updates on the progress of other development initiatives in the area.
He announced that a double-storey multipurpose building, constructed as proposed by the local community, has been completed.
Situated at Babupara near the DC Bungalow Office, the building's ground floor is designed for Meira Paibi activities, while the upper floor will serve as an office space.
This project is ready for handover and will be inaugurated at the earliest, ensuring its prompt utilization by the community.
The gathering expressed appreciation for the MLA's efforts in fostering infrastructure development, environmental sustainability, and community welfare.
