Chandel, December 04 2024: As observed across the globe, Chandel Forest Division observed World Wildlife Conservation day and International Cheetah day with an awareness programme at St Paul's School, Liwachangning, Komlathabi under Chandel district today.
The event was graced by Father Rev.Aloysius, principal of St Paul's School and DFO, Chandel, Dr N Munal Meitei as chief guest and president.
The event was attended by around 1200 students along with staff and faculty of St Paul's School.
Speaking at the occasion, DFO Chandel, Dr N Munal stated that the wildlife animals are the most precious gift given by the God and urged everyone to protect them.
He continued that without wildlife, human beings cannot exist.
Many animals like tigers, elephants and rhinoceros once existed in Manipur but this remains a fairy tale now, added Dr N Munal.
Even though we cannot bring back the extinct animals we could still protect and safeguard the endangered Sangai and other wildlife that are habitat in Manipur.
Therefore it is the responsibility of the students and the youths to protect them, added Munal.
