Imphal, March 04 2024: Heirok-based Eco-Network and Ningol Club jointly observed 'World Wildlife day' on the theme 'Connecting people and planet: Exploring in digital innovation in wild life conservation' at Hemabati Memorial Coaching Centre, Heirok Bazar on Sunday.
The observance was attended by Eco-Network executive member Roshankant Ahong-sangbam as chief guest, Ningol Club president Sophiya Khundongbam as president and Lamding Higher Secondary School lecturer Bikram Laishram as guest of honour.
Speaking at the programme, Roshakant reminded about benefits to human by wildlife and also highlighted the close relation between humans and wildlife and as such stressed on the importance for maintaining ecological balance, protecting biodiversity and conserving environment and wildlife.
Further pointing out that contemporary wildlife conservation efforts involve use of innovative ideas and techniques to monitor their population, threats and habitats, he said digital innovations such as remote sensing, satellite technology, GPS tracking & telemetry, artificial intelligence, date analysis, block chain technology for supply chain transparency, virtual reality & education should be explored by all for effective conservation of wildlife.
