Speaking on the occasion, Surjit Kshetrimayum stressed on the importance of inculcating the habit of planting trees and ensuring survival of trees that have been planted to combat the climate crisis that has befallen humanity due to large scale degradation of forested areas.

He also highlighted the need to launch a movement to save trees in the hill areas which make up a majority of the State's landmass.

SP Thokchom Bikramjit lauded the ADAM team for their collective effort since 2002 in association with the public that has successfully recovered the green cover of Angaan Ching.

He also assured that District Police Kakching will aid ADAM in their initiatives.

Meanwhile Laishram Dinesh, RFO Kakching also lauded ADAM and their campaign while highlighting them as something unique to be emulated by the public.

During today's mass tree plantation campaign, a team led by SP Th Bikramjit planted around 100 tree saplings in the south-western part of Angaan Ching where a wildfire had razed much of the greenery in 2021 making it difficult for forest cover to return.

Surjit Kshetrimayum also gifted a Yes-SHE (Yes, Sundays and Holidays for Environment) t-shirt to SP Kakching and RFO Kakching.

He also appealed to the public in and around Kakching to participate in the month-long campaign by procuring tree saplings from Gulapyaima & Noutana Memorial Complex located at the foot of Angaan Ching and plant the said saplings in specific sites designated by ADAM.
