Ukhrul, July 05 2023: Kamjong District Forest Division on Wednesday observed the 74th Van Mahotsava by planting tree saplings at Lungphu village under Phungyar subdivision in the district.
Kamjong DFO SW Suisa informed that the department 's target for the current year is to plant 10,000 saplings of which around 5000 saplings of various species including fruit-bearing trees were handed over to the Lungphu village authority on the occasion.
The village authority and local youth volunteers took up plantation of the saplings provided by the forest department, he said.
The event was attended by ADCCF Sorei-phy Ruivah, DFO Suisa, PWD Kamjong EE Pamreishang Ruivah, DLOs and CSOs of the district.
