Source: Chronicle News Service / DIO Pherzawl, September 21 2023: Swachhta Hi Seva (Cleanliness is Service) organised by the district administration and various village authorities gained momentum in Pherzawl district with healthy local participation in the campaign here.
Villagers have undertaken various cleanliness activities with enthusiasm in as many as 12 villages under Vangai and Tipaimukh Subdivisions so far.
The Swachhta Hi Seva fortnight observance in the district witnessed villagers engaged in clearing weeds and wastes from the roadsides and highway at Senvon, Lungthulien, Damdiei, Tinsuong and Sipuikawn villages among others.
Villagers also undertook cleaning of water sources, premises of government health facilities and educational institutions.
Community awareness to promote cleanliness, hygiene and effective waste management was also emphasised during the campaign.
In the run up to the culmination event observed as Swachh Bharat Diwas on October 2 every year, the district administration has lined up several activities besides faking all possible measures to cover every village in the fortnight-long mass cleanliness campaign.
