Workshop on air pollution held

Churachandpur, April 06 2023: A sensitisation workshop/training on 'Air pollution and its impact on human health of municipal workers and traffic police personnel' was held on Thursday at the ADCC conference hall, Tui-buong, Churachandpur.

The programme was attended by NPCCHH state nodal officer Dr Y Niveda, district nodal officer MO Dr Kaisiamkhai Haokip and Samulamlan Block medical officer MO Dr James K Touthang as resource persons.

During the training programme, the adverse impacts of air pollution for the aforementioned group of people were highlighted by the resource persons.

The possible consequences of prolonged exposure to polluted air include suffering from stroke, heart disease and pre mature birth in case of women were also elaborated by the resource persons, who further suggested measures to combat the pollution such as wearing of N95 and N99 masks.
