Imphal, April 24 2023: Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) organised tree plantation drive on the occasion of "World Earth Day" at Moltuk, Chandel and Machi village in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts respectively on Sunday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the events were attended by a total of 110 villagers including children of Oriental Academy, Koinonia Training School, youth and elders who helped in planting 210 saplings.
Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) also organised mega tree plantation drive to promote afforestation under the theme "Adopt a tree campaign" at Aina on Saturday.
The plantation drives were focused upon imbibing the importance of trees and spreading awareness amongst locals and troops on saving earth by planting more trees.
The villagers were also briefed upon adopting eco-friendly lifestyle thereby contributing towards mother earth and cleaner environment.
