Imphal, September 16 2022: Forest and Science & Technology Minister Th Biswajit has appealed to all the people to take pro-active roles in protecting environment and ecology.
Biswajit was speaking at the World Ozone Day observation held at the auditorium of Manipur Science Centre, Takyelpat.
As recommended by the United Nations, the World Ozone Day is observed across the globe today and it was made necessary by anthropocentric activities, he said.
Earth is the only planet where living beings can survive.
Ozone layer depletion is very much related to the degeneration of natural environment.
Many technologies, gadgets and chemicals which are used for mankind's comfort are responsible for the depletion of ozone layer, the Forest Minister said.
