Bishnupur, August 01 2022: Under the funding of State Biodiversity Board, Bishnupur Forest Division organised a one day Biodiversity Conservation work shop on "Identification, Conservation and Awareness of Butterflies" at Sadu Chiru Workshed cum Godown in Kangpokpi district on Monday.
The workshop was attended by Sadu Chiru village chief TD Droikha, Bishnupur divisional forest officer Dr Rebika Soibam Chanu and Biodiversity Management Committee Khoriphaba Nambol chairman Maimom Mangishore as the presidium members.
Teachers and students of eight colleges of the district and villagers also attended the workshop.
As part of the programme, Bishnupur Forest Division range officer Sukham Ratan presented a slide show demonstrating importance of biodiversity conservation to make the participants aware about the need for Biodiversity Conservation.
Speaking at the event, DFO Dr Rebika informed about various species of butterfly found in Manipur and appealed to the public to inaugurate every function by planting saplings or watering trees rather than lighting candles.
