A mass tree plantation was also carried out at STC/BSF camp on Monday under the massive afforestation drive to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, marking 75 years of India's independence.

STC/BSF Churachandpur commandant Hidam Shubol Singh and Ccpur DFO Esther Laltankim along with 6 forest department officials, BSF officers and personnel and students of Kendriya Vidyalaya participated in the plantation drive.

The event was organised to contribute in the green drive of the country against global warming for a better environment for the next generation.

During the drive, 2000 saplings of neem, cheer, palm, guava and amla were planted at each company and the commandant exhorted the participants to protect trees and plant more trees.
