Training programme on high value vegetable crops begins

Churachandpur, May 04 2022: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur on Wednesday organised a 3-day training programme for farmers on 'Nursery raising technique of High value vegetable crops' at its training hall.

The training programme participated by 53 farmers drawn from 15 villages of Churachandpur district was conducted under the sponsorship of NABARD.

It was organised to impart technical know-how to farmers and hone their skills in Kharif vegetable cultivation.

On the occasion, Samuel Biakmang Ngaihte, DDM, NABARD, Churachandpur encouraged the farmers to take up innovative projects while Thangchinkhup Guite, DGM, NABARD stressed on organic farming.

Farmers need to be health conscious in their farming methods and avoid using chemical fertilizers, weedicides in order to produce a healthy product, Thangchinkhup Guite said.

L Somendro Singh, Head (I/c), ICAR-KVK Churachandpur also encouraged the farmers to make the most of their training on raising nurseries for high value vegetable crops.

Meanwhile, the technical session was led by Ph Chandramnai Singh, SMS (Horticulture) and Dr N Johnson Singh, SMS (Plant Protection) .
