Churachandpur, April 29 2022: Under the theme 'For a clean, green and healthy hometown', a massive cleanliness drive was conducted at Lanva River on Friday.
The programme held with the support of Highland groups saw more than 500 volunteers taking part besides village authority members and members of YPA, NCCs, police, etc.
The drive was also participated by Churachandpur MLA LM Khaute and others.
The clean-up campaign was flagged off early in the morning by the MLA.
It may be mentioned here that Lanva river bed has been used by many people for mining sand as well as dumping waste, thus, causing pollution.
It has also led to frequent flooding during rainy season.
The programme was initiated as it was felt that it is the right time to generate awareness among the public for keeping the rivers clean.
