Imphal, April 28 2022: Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) carried out a tree plantation drive at Tuitom Khongkai in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the plantation drive was organised to spread awareness among villagers about growing environmental concerns and ways to prevent it by planting trees.
A total of 45 villagers and troops of Assam Rifles planted 80 new saplings.
The gathering was also educated about the importance of trees in maintaining the ecological balance, the PRO said.
