Imphal, April 08 2022: An awareness programme on Conservation of Forest and Wildlife' was organised by Assam Rifles Tamei Battalion and Tamei Range, Tamenglong Forest Division on Friday at Tamah village under Tamenglong district.
The programme emphasised on planning and maintaining forested areas for sustainability of ecosystem and wildlife.
The villagers were also educated on outcome of mass deforestation, illegal timber logging and its impact on environment.
The awareness programme culminated with a ceremonial tree plantation and distribution of sapling to the villagers.
It was attended by villagers of Tamah, Forest Range Officer and representatives of Tamei Battalion.
