Civic Action Programme: 109 Bn CRPF distributes solar lanterns

Senapati, December 20 2021: As part of the Civic Action Programme, 109 Bn CRPF under the aegis of IGP Manipur and Nagaland Sector distributed solar lanterns to the villagers of Chowainu, Mao in Senapati district on Monday.

Sandeep, Second-in Command-109 Bn CRPF distributed the solar lanterns to the poor and needy persons of Chowainu village in presence of A Lokho, chairman of Chowainu village; Derick, SDO, Mao; Major Nikhil, B/33 AR; P Longpignao, SDPO Mao; Jonah Raphuba Chawang, SHO Mao; Parvinder Kaur, DC, 109 Bn, CRPF; Vishal Chandra, AC 109 Bn and Insp/Gd- William Seiveinii, along with other dignitaries of local administration.

The programme was organised with an aim to connect with the marginalized section of the society and to extend a helping hand to the residents of Chowainu village which is located in the vicinity of D/109 Bn CRPF, said a release issued by 109 Bn CRPF.

Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep stated that it is the need of the hour and the primary duty of the security force to take care of the public while adding that the continued unabridged support of the locals has helped the CRPF in maintaining peace and stability in the state.

He also thanked A Lokho for giving this opportunity to serve the people of Mao.

"109 Bn CRPF has constructed a Public convenience/toilet at Karong; distributed sports items and student utility items to Thong Upper Primary School; distributed sewing machine to widows of Senapati; solar lanterns to villagers of Laii, Tadubi, Mao Karong, Khabung Karong, Kathikho Karong, Taphau Phayamai village; and has conducted many such civic action programmes in the last couple of years in Imphal West and Senapati district", he added.
