Imphal, December 20 2021: A one day awareness cum training programme on scientific piggery farming was held at Lamlai Khunou in Phungyar Assembly Constituency.
The awareness cum training programme was jointly organised by Mapithel New Generation Farmers Club and Manipur Progressive Farmers Association sponsored by Ningreingam Kashung, vice president of Kisan Morcha BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Speaking at the occasion, Ningreingam Kashung who is also intending to contest the upcoming General election from Phungyar AC said that the programme has been organised for the farmers of the constituency with an aim to generate more income through scientific piggery farming.
Expressing concern on the deplorable condition of Phungyar AC due to negligence by the authorities concerned, he said that many are facing the brunt of many issues, the most significant being the problem of unemployment.
Hence with an aim to alleviate such problems, he stated that he has been trying to take up a piggery programme to be extended to 1500 beneficiaries of the constituency under the sponsorship of the Central Government and waiting for the approval of the same.
Assuring that he will work earnestly for the welfare of the constituency and will focus on improving the economic status of the people, he appealed to the gathering to support him in the upcoming election and elect him as a representative.
Today's programme was also attended by Pipi Keithellakpam who have excelled in the field of piggery farming and other experts and gave valuable inputs on productive piggery farming.
Also the villagers of Lamlai Khunou expressed joy for giving 'Covid Warrior' title to Ningreingam Kashung acknowledging his enormous contributions in spreading awareness on Covid vaccination to the residents of Phungyar AC .
