Imphal, December 23 2021: Director of Extension Education under Central Agricultural University (CAU) has floated Farmer Producers' Organisation for Imphal East at KVK Andro on Thursday.
The launch programme organised under the sponsorship of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development was attended by programme coordinator S Molibala, NABARD DDM I Premjoy and retired SMS Dr Hera among others.
Speaking at the programme, S Monibala explained that the event was organised in connection with National Farmer's Day.
The organisation has been floated with the objective of not only increasing the productivity by providing updated technology to farmers, but also enhancing the economy.
Though it requires more than 400/500 farmers to set up a farmer producers' organisation, it has been launched for the first time in respect of Imphal East as approval has been given to open with 150/200 farmers for small states of North East, she added.
