Painting competition on Energy Conservation held

Imphal, December 09 2021: A state level painting competition on Energy Conservation 2021 was organised at Hotel Imphal on Thursday by NHPC, Loktak Power Station on the topics 'Cleaner Planet' and 'Energy Efficient India' as a part of national awareness campaign on Energy Conservation 2021 launched by Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

As chief guest of the event, Higher and Technical Education commissioner M Harekrishna expressed delight to see the creative paintings by the students on energy conservation and advised them to be resilient, flexible and adoptable to the changing circumstances.

He also appreciated NHPC, Loktak Power Station's endeavour for conducting the competition.

NHPC, Loktak Power Station general manager Ranjit Thakur, in his address highlighted the importance of energy conservation and role of renewable energy while Nodal Officer of Manipur Pandu Gagrai, noted that such type of programmes will inspire and make the students more aware towards energy conservation.

A total of 526 students from class 5 to 10 Were registered through the web portal developed by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power for the painting competition and 26 participant students were awarded with prizes worth Rs 3.50 Jakh along with certificates.

The first three prize winners will represent Manipur at the National level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation to be held on December 14 on New Delhi in connection with observance of National Energy Conservation Day.
