Kangpokpi, November 28 2021: A one-day training programme on "Clean Village-Green Village" was organised at Kholep village, one of the cleanest and well-maintained villages in Kangpokpi district.
The programme was organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) Kangpokpi in collaboration with Kholep Youth Club.
NYK Kangpokpi district youth coordinator (DYC) Ginbiakmuan Tombing, pioneer environmentalist of Kholep Village Paominthan Haokip, Kholep Youth Club advisor Lalcha Haokip and social activist Dr Lamtinthang Haokip attended the programme as special guests and respectively trainers.
The training started with a keynote address from National Youth Volunteer Thangkhanlen Haokip which was followed by lecture series from the trainers.
In his address, DYC Ginbiakmuan Tombing highlighted the need to make villages plastic free and the challenges of open defecation.
Paominthang spoke on the issue of climate change while Lalcha and Dr Lamtinthang lectured on sanitation and hygiene, social and community actions for green innovations respectively.
The programme was organised to make aware, inspire and motivate the people to act for the environment, for cleanliness and greenery, and other practical steps to better the environment as a whole.
