Intending candidate vows revival of wetlands

Kakching, December 06 2021: Youth of Hiyanglam Gram Panchayat on Monday organised a motor rally supporting National People's Party (NPP) intending candidate in Hiyanglam AC Maibam Dhanabir and spreading message of free and fair election in the constituency.

The motor rally was flagged off by Maibam Dhanabir.

Speaking on the sidelines, Dhanabir lamented that Hiyanglam is underdeveloped in various sectors including improper roads, lack of potable water, heath care sector and unemployment.

Observing that 70 per cent of the people in Hiyanglam depends on Pumlen and Khoidum pat (water bodies) as they are serving as sources of livelihood, he noted that continuous degradation of the wetlands has been affecting the locals.

Dhanabir assured to the gathering rejuvenation of Pumlen and Khoidum pat so as to ensure livelihood to the people of Hiyanglam and also launch several developmental activities if he was elected as MLA in the upcoming state assembly election.
