Imphal, November 21 2021: Patsoi MLA Ak Mirabai has said that there will be no problem for drinking water in entire area of Patsoi assembly constituency when the ongoing constructions of water supply schemes are completed.
Addressing a gathering at the Block Advisory Committee meet held on Sunday at her Taobungk-hok residence, Ak Mirabai said that majority of roads in Patsoi AC have been fully developed or black-topped but some already completed roads have been damaged owing to the ongoing pipe laying works for water supply schemes.
Development of the remaining roads in Patsoi AC have been delayed due to non-completion of pipe laying works but an understanding has been reached with agency concerned executing pipe laying works to repair the damaged portions of roads and accordingly development of the remaining roads has progressed very fast now, she said.
According to Ak Mirabai, several water supply schemes with over-head tanks are being constructed at various places in Patsoi AC under both urban water supply scheme and rural water supply scheme for providing drinking water to every household of the constituency.
When these schemes are completed and start commissioning, there will be no problem of drinking water for 95 percent of the total population of the assembly segment.
Construction of overhead tank for Changangei water supply scheme under urban water supply scheme has almost completed and construction of Taobungkhok, Patsoi and Takyel Khongbal water supply schemes under rural water supply scheme are progressing smoothly, she added.
Mirabai further said that people of the state are about to reap benefit of water supply programme taken up by the past Congress government but people have to suffer for a long time as the present government delayed implementation of programmes chalked out by the past government.
Drinking water problem in majority pf Imphal area will ease when Chingkhei Ching water supply scheme starts commissionr ing and trial run of the scheme had already been done, she said and appealed to people who are yet to be covered by ongoing pipeline to lodge complaint in time.
On health sector, Ak Mirabai pointed out that government cited Patsoi's proximity to RIMS and JNIMS as main reason for non-opening of PHC or CHC and this is also for Sagolband, Keishamthong, Wangkhei, Thangmeiband and Uripok ACs.
However, nine PHSC have been opened in Patsoi so far and efforts are on to upgrade Khamnang Leirak PHSC to PHC, she said, adding that health department had been apprised about the need of having PHGin the area as various institutions are functioning.
