NYK conducts training on 'SVEEP Catch The Rain'

Imphal, November 23 2021: A one-day training for youth on Clean Village Green Village, SVEEP and 'Catch The Rain' was conducted as a part of Special Summary Revision SSR 2022 under SVEEP.

Thoubal district election officer/DC A Subhash Singh distributed "I AM READY to vote" t-shirts to participants of the training jointly organised by SVEEP Thoubal, Nehru Yuva Kendra Thoubal and NSS Units of YK College at YK College Hall, Wangjing, Thoubal on Tuesday.

In a release, NYK Thoubal district youth officer Michael Thangminlien Mate, who is the nodal officer of SVEEP, informed that the programme was attended by Thoubal Forest Division Kakching Range forest officer N Munal Meitei, YK College HOD of Mathematics as sistant professor K Thoiba Singh, assistant professor of Political Science department E Budhi Singh and former principal Dr S Birahari Singh as presidium members cum resource persons.

In the first session, an awareness lecture on 'Climate Change, Green Innovations, Local Species Plantation' was delivered by N Munal Meitei and on 'Making Villages plastic free, hygiene and sanitation' by E Budhi Singh.

Meanwhile, DC Subhash Singh explained to the gathering on the themes of SVEEP- Inclusive and Accessible Elections, Leaving no voters behind and highlighted the ease of enrolling or correction of electoral rolls through online mode.

In his address, Dr S Birahari Singh motivated the youth on the importance of water conservation and rainwater harvesting on the theme Catch the Rain, where it falls, when it falls.

In the second session, a block level Declamation Contest on "Patriotism and Nation Building" under the theme 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas' was conducted.

The winners will participate in the District Level Declamation Contest tentatively scheduled for December 4, 2021, added the release.
