Tamenglong, November 18 2021: Rajya Sabha MP and titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba on Thursday visited Tharon Cave here along with attending a public reception programme.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Leishemba Sanajaoba said that this is his first ever visit to this historical place after 75 years ago his grandfather Maharaja Bodhchandra, the then king of Manipur had visited the cave.
"I am very happy to visit this historical site and pay floral tribute in memory of my grandparent's legacy.
I also thank the villagers of Tharon for preserving the ancient cultural heritage," he said.
The MP also assured the villagers that he will construct a multi-conventional hall and tourist centre near Tharon Cave for facilitation of the tourists.
He also stated that a big playground would also be developed for youth and general purposes after due consultation with the state government.
He continued that better road connectivity would be provided for this heritage village.
However, Leishemba expressed displeasure towards the former hill representatives for neglecting their respective constituencies and not redressing their grievances properly.
These leaders possess vast land plots and properties in valley areas, he claimed.
The Rajya Sabha MP also unveiled a memorial stone to mark his visit to the sacred cave.
He was accompanied by former MLA and BJP Manipur Pradesh president Meinam Bhorot, Tamenglong district in-charge Th Yumjao Singh, sjate executive member and intending BJP candidate Huri Golmei and other BJP leaders.
