Senapati, November 08 2021: A one day conference on 'Eco-adventure tourism for sustainable rural livelihood' was held at Paomata Centre, DRDA Hall with Losii Dikho, Minister PHE, Printing & Stationery, Manipur as the special guest and D John Sha, MFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Senapati as the resource person.
The event was organised by Hills Eco-Adventure Tourism-Manipur (HEAT-M) in collaboration with Khumai (Tunggam) Youth & Students Organization (KYSO) under the aegis of the Khumai (Tunggam) Union.
Speaking on the occasion, Traole Rai, president HEAT-M stated that the event was organised to explore the unexplored hills of Manipur through different Eco-Adventure activities and events.
HEAT-M was created to facilitate, promote, protect and preserve the God-given natural tourism avenues in the region.
While Northeast India is one of the most beautiful and dream holiday destinations for many, so are the hills of Manipur, he asserted.

The president also invited all to come and have the most of everything, watch beautiful places, fresh air, eco-friendly environment and have fun with what mother nature has provided.
L Dikho stated that public participation and awareness is vital to bring development in a region while adding that he has been trying his best to bring all kinds of changes and development in the region.
There are a number of popular leaders who have worked for the betterment of all in their own capacity.
Unless people realise the need to change, it is practically difficult to implement and develop, he added.
The minister then urged all to spread awareness on preservation of nature while highlighting his plans to promote locally available wild fruits of the region to generate income.
D John Sha elaborated on tourism which is one of the largest and fastest growing businesses in the world.
He stated that there is a changing concept among people to see the natural habitat instead of going to big markets and cities while urging the local youths to maintain their originality to attract tourists from other places.
He also suggested different forms of professions for income generation including tool guides, taxi services, hotel/restaurant, lodging, promotion of local products, photographers, etc.
Later, site visits at Dziiduri and plantation of saplings were conducted.
It may be mentioned that Khumai (Tunggam) Dziiduri is one of the centres of tourist attraction in the region.
It is situated in Khumai (Tunggam) village under Paomata block of Senapati district at about 51 km from district headquarters.
The Khumai (Tunggam) Dziiduri is famous for its natural formation of two long sketches of rocky cliff layers.
A beautiful lake was also constructed on top of the mountain that makes Dziiduri enchantingly beautiful.
Dziiduri is an excellent venue for picnic, hiking, trekking, camping, rock-climbing and zip-lining.
It is also suitable for air base and water base sports like paragliding, para-sailing and boating.
