Tamenglong, October 30 2021: An awareness campaign on conservation of wildlife including their habitat was held under the aegis of Tamenglong Forest Division at Kuilong Part II today.
The campaign was attended by S Khogen Singh, RFO Tousem; Johnson Khundrakpam, RFO Tamei; Hipingbou, chairman of Kuilong Part II; Takampibou, secretary of Kuilong Part II.
During the campaign compensation for the cattle killed by a 'tiger' in July 2021 was handed over to at least three persons namely Suipingbou, Namsibou and Wirikambou by the Forest Department in the presence of village authority members.
All the camera traps installed to capture the images of the predator at Kuilong Part II village were also retrieved by the Forest officials.
On the other hand, a festival was also held at Kuilong Part II to promote the organic king chilly grown there.
Johnson Khundrakpam, S Khogen Singh and Ranchamdin PRO, Tamenglong attended the festival.
