Clean India campaign concluded

Imphal, October 31 2021: A month long 'Clean India Campaign', single used plastic waste collection and cleaning of villages and places in Imphal West district was concluded today at Khumbong Bazar.

The campaign was launched on October 1 .

The closing event was attended by Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, MLA Konthoujam AC and L Marjitkumar Singh, deputy director Nehru Yuva Kendra Imphal as presidium members.

L Marjitkumar Singh said during the monthlong campaign, 3865 kgs of single used plastic waste were collected and disposed off proeperly in the district.

The State organised 2409 such programmes and 70654 kgs of plastic waste were collected and disposed off.


Speaking at the programme, Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh appealed the public to reduce the use of single used plastics to save our environment.

The programme was also actively paarticipated by local disaster response force, Khumbong; Imphal West Students Club Khumbong; Fruit Plantation Mission Khumbong and ward members of GP.
