Foundation laid for water supply schemes

Imphal, October 29 2021: Agriculture minister Oinam Lukhoi Singh, who is also Wangoi AC MLA, on Friday laid foundation stone for augmentation of Wangoi, Thongkhong Laxmi Bazar and Samurou water supply schemes and construction of Treatment Unit at Paobitek (Z-II) to be implemented by the Public Health Engineering department (PHED) under funding from New Development Bank (NDB).

Speaking at the event, minister Lukhoi informed that the water supply schemes are implemented under the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide safe drinking water to every household and expressed that through these projects safe and clean drinking water could be ensured to all.

He also highlighted various welfare schemes and projects undertaken by the government to uplift the lives of the people and for inclusive development.

The programme was also attended by Imphal West PHED executive engineer N Sanjit kumar, AE O Somorjit and officials of the department.

On the other hand, health cards of the Chief Minister Gi Hakshel Tenbang (CMHT) scheme were also handed over to more than 100 beneficiaries on the occasion.
