Tengnoupal, October 07 2021: Tengnoupal, Oct 7: Divisional Forest Office- Tengnoupal Forest Division on Wednesday celebrated 66th Wildlife Week at DFO Tengnoupal Office.
The programme was attended by Deputy Conservator of Forests Tengnoupal, Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee; Range Forest Officer -Headquarter Tengnoupal, Dipu Raj Toijam; Range Forest Officer Moreh, Ngangom Nandabir and Range Forest Officer Machi, Marson Anal as presidium members.
It was also participated by students and staff of the Forest Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee highlighted the importance of wildlife in the ecosystem and urged the people to love, care and help protect the wild animals in order to preserve wildlife.
The significance of Oxygen is understood by the people only during health crises.
It is essential to plant trees in order to ensure sufficient supply of Oxygen for the future generation, she asserted.
As a part of the programme, a quiz competition was also organised for the students.
In which, students from St Peter's School Tengnoupal; Cherith Foundation Pallel; and St George High School Moreh secured first, second and third positions respectively.
The consolation prize was awarded to Corner Stone Academy Pallel.
Moreover, prizes for the online slogan competition held earlier were also distributed in the order of merit: For Class VI to VIII category - Joseph Thangkhochon Haokip, Cherith Foundation Pallel; Lhingngaineng, Corner Store Academy Pallel; Hemmingou Mate, St George High School Moreh.
For Class IX to XII category- Nengnunhoi Kipgen, Cherith Foundation Pallel; Lamneihoi Haokip, St Peters School Tengnoupal; and Tilak Acharya, St George High School Moreh.
Consolation prizes were awarded to 4 more students.
