Thoubal, October 09 2021: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Thoubal on Saturday organised a cycle rally as a part of an awareness and outreach campaign under 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav', an initiative celebrating 75 years of India's independence.
The rally held under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) was flagged off by MASLSA chairman and High Court of Manipur Justice Kh Nobin from Khongjom War Memorial Gate and it culminated at the Court Complex, Thoubal-.
As a part of the programme, Justice Nobin led a tree plantation drive around the Court Complex, Thoubal.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Nobin noted that despite 75 years of India's independence many people living in the interior parts of the nation are yet to enjoy their rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
As a part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' observance, preparations have tfeen made to spread legal awareness among the denizens of the state, he said while urging the public to participate in the same.
The event was also attended by District and Sessions Judge (Thoubal) Binny Ngangom, CJM (Thoubal) Athokpam Shanta Devi, MASLSA member secretary Ojesh Mutum, SP (Thoubal) Jogeschandra Haobijam, Thoubal District Bar Association, hnphal West and Kakching Legal Services Authority members, students and staff.
